We have 10 pupils attending our English class.

How does your school system work?

At our school, we have 100 minutes lessons, then a break. We start at 8:25 and the day ends at 16:15. Wednesday, the day ends at 11:55.

We can choose our program and levels.  

The choices are; Latin or Biotechnical or economic Sciences and Sciences 3 hours or 5 hours.

What is your culture like? 

In Belgium there are 3 different types of secondary schools; general, professional and technical. Our school is a general school winch allows us to enter university upon graduation.

Many pupils in our class go to school by bus, some by car and the ones that live in La Roche walk to school. After school we all have different activities; mainly sports like: soccer, tennis, ping-pong, swimming, basketball to name a few.

In Belgium, we have a king, even if he is just representative of the unity of the country. The chief of the federal government is the Prime Minister. He is the chief of the different ministers: Foreign Affairs, Finances, Mobility, Education,...

The food specialities of Belgium are Chocolate and fries. In our region, there is another speciality, it's game meat. Especially in autumn, when the hunting season is open, we eat wild boar or venison.

School trip to Amsterdam, 2017 (Lisa)

Hello,
Yesterday,  my friends and I went to Amsterdam for

school holidays. We were all pupils from the third and

fourth classes and it was really great . First, we took

the bus for 5 hours, that was really long! After that

we visited Kinderdijk and the museum of Anne Frank

before we walked to our hotel. I was really tired. Today

we have seen Texel from our bicycles and we have taken

the boat to travel to the island. I've got so much fun with

my friends and Amsterdam is beautifull! Tomorrow,

we're going to take photo's in Volendam with weird clothes.

I think we'll eat fish for lunch because it's next to the sea.

School trip to Amsterdam (Clémentine)

Last week we had our school trip to Amsterdam.  We had a lot of fun! Here is what we did:

22/05/2017

We took the bus at 5:30 AM "Place du Bronze" in La Roche. The first thing we visited were mills. We climbed until the top of a mill. In some of them, people were living and looked after it. Then, we visited the Anne Frank's house. This hiding place is full of a strange and heavy atmosphere. This young girl was extremely brave during the second world war. In spite of her painful life, she was always smiling. After, we went to the "Rijksmuseum". It's a famous and very big museum (more than 200 rooms of exhibition). Finally, we went in the center to eat and walk.

That day, we took the boat to go to an island named "Texel". It was very nice. To live there must be pleasant. At the arrival on the island, we rented bikes to cross the small island. It was very funny but also tiring. After lunch, we went cycling 500 meters to join the beach. We went in the sea. We made photos. Around 4 PM, we took the boat to Amsterdam where we ate and had free time.

It was the last day of our trip. We took the bus to "Volendam". There, we made a photograph of us dressed with typical and traditional costumes. After we had free time and we ate at "Mc Donald". Before returning to La Roche, teachers who were with us paid us an ice-cream.

The Nederlands were wonderful.

Un karaoké pas comme les autres !

Bonjour les amis,

Nous avons été un peu paresseux au niveau du blog cette année...  Veuillez nous en excuser, mais nous avons été très occupés par la mise en oeuvre de notre grand projet.

De quoi s'agit-il ? Les élèves de la 1e maternelle à la rhéto ont créé de toutes pièces un SITE DE KARAOKES ILLUSTRES !

Il compte, à ce jour, plus de 100 vidéos permettant d'aborder le français, l'anglais, le néerlandais et même... le latin de manière ludique.  Voilà une belle occasion pour vous de passer quelques heures de cours bien sympathiques !

Ce projet a été primé "Label européen des langues" ce 10 mai dernier à Bruxelles. 

Deux jours plus tard, nous avons organisé une grande soirée karaoké dans notre école, c'était génial !  Il y avait une ambiance extraordinaire !

My favourite singer is Matt Pokora.

My favourite actor is Vin Diesel.  His real name is Mark Sinclair. He is 50 and he's a tall man. He's 1,80 meter tall, he weighs 80 kilos.

He is married to Paloma and he's got 3 children.

He lives in California.

He is an actor and a producer. He plays in "Fast and Furious","Saving private Ryan"

"xXx" or "baby-sittor".  He's a handsome man and he loves driving beautiful cars.

His friend Paul Walker is dead.

He has got brown eyes, he is bald. he has got a beard but no moustuche.
In the films he usually wears a t-shirt and jeans but in the photo he's wearing a tuxedo.

My favourite singer (Iryna)

My favourite singer is Tal Benyerzi. She was born in Israël. Her name means ''morning dew'' in Hebrew. She was born on 12 December 1989. She's lived in France since the age of 2. She sings '' Le sens de la vie", "On avance", "A l'international", "Le temps qu'il faut'' ... . And she dances too !

She usually wears jeans and a t-shirt or a dress but in the photo she's wearing a blue t-shirt with a blazer. She's wearing shorts with tights and blue and white trainers. She's got brown hair and blue eyes. She's very small. Her father is a composer and her mother is a singer too. She sings ''world music''.  Her name is Sem Azar.

My favourite sportsman is Eden Hazard. He's an international football player. He was born on the 27th of January 1991 in La Louvière. He's got 2 brothers, Thorgan and Killian Hazard. He plays for Chelsea. He's got brown hair and he's got a beard.  He wears a Belgian shirt, it's black, yellow and red.  His eyes are grey.  His shoes are black and red.  The  protections for his legs are red with a yellow inscription. He plays with number 10.

Bonjour Katherine, je m'appelle Giovanna et j'ai 15 ans moi aussi, et j'ai une grande famille qui se compose de 4 frères. Je partage les mêmes passions que toi, j'adore le shopping,.. Mais je déteste courir. Tu as de la chance d'avoir une maman photographe.  Est ce que ta maman t'apprend des choses sur son metier ? ou meme publier des photos serait sympa a montrer.

Hey katherine! Mon nom est Thorgal et mon nom de famille est Lafalize. Ma passion est le gaming, les jeux vidéos. Je fais des compétitions d'e-sport, j'aime passer du temps avec mes amis et ma famille. Moi, ma mère s'occupe de mon ancienne école, quand j'étais petit, ma mère allait au travail avec moi. Même lorsque je suis né elle m'emmenait dans son lieu de travail. Quand je suis passé dans les classes supérieures ça lui a fait mal au coeur et moi aussi mais on s'est vite habitué 😄. Ma musique préferée est le rap et je n'aime pas d'autres musiques. J'espere que tu liras ce message.  J'attends de tes nouvelles.

Salut Rosalie, je m'appelle thorgal et j'ai 14 ans, mon anniversaire ce passe le 15 juin. Je vois que tu aimes lire, aime tout les cours qui se passent á l'école. Moi, je déteste l'école sauf quand je suis avec mes amis et que les profs sont absent. Dans notre école nous avons plusieurs classes différentes, moi je suis en 3B avec tous mes potes. J'espère que tu ne t'ennuies pas trop et que tu passes beaucoup de temps avec tes amis. Bonne chance pour tes examens...

Salut Sally, moi je me réveille vers 6h20, mange, m'habille,....Ensuite je prends le bus pour aller à l'école qui commence vers 8h20 et termine à 16h25. Je rentre chez moi en bus, mange vers 18h30, puis je fais mes devoirs si j'en ai, et si je n'en ai pas je joue à la playstation 4 et je m'endors vers 9h45, 10h. Et le lendemain c'est repartit.

J'ai vu que dans ta lettre tu parlais que tu avais des chiens. Moi aussi
j'ai des chiens j'en ai 9 avec mon papa on pratique la chasse, ils ont
entre 3 et 10 ans ils sont tous très gentils mais aboient beaucoup. Ils
vivent dehors mais ils ont un grand abri couvert. J'adore
jouer avec eux. Ils sont de taille moyenne et n'ont pas une race précise,
se sont des croisement, il y en a 6 qui sont noir et les autres sont
brun. Et toi de quelle couleur sont tes chiens ?

Bonjour Elijah

Moi ma journée d'école commence a 8h30. Bien sûr je me lève vers 6h30
car, je me lave puis ensuite je déjeune ensuite mon bus me prend plus
bas que chez moi a 7h35, je vais ensuite à l'école jusque 4h25.

Quand je rentre je mange puis je pars à mon entrainement de foot. Je
rentre vers 9h je mange puis je vais dormir vers 9h30 car j'ai du mal a
m'endormir directement.

Tu me donnes de tes nouvelles en anglais?

En Belgique, le parc d’attraction le plus connu est Walibi.

Nous n’avons pas d’équipe de sport dans notre école. En Belgique, il y a beaucoup de sports différents mais le plus connu est surement le football. Moi-même je fais du foot depuis que j’ai 5 ans. Je joue au gardien de but. Est-ce que toi aussi, tu pratiques un sport et si oui lequel. As-tu Facebook ?

Lysanna Paquay 14 ans

Hello! My name's Lysanne, I am 13 years old and I have a twin brother and a big sister, my twin brother and me live in Odeigne with my parents. I have a big family because, I have a lot of cousins, uncles, aunts and small cousins. Odeigne is at the countryside, this is perfect for me so I can ride my horse. It's very beautiful!
